TEST RESULT

Based on the test results, the performance of the SOLAMAGIC ECO+PRO patio heater can be compared to other European brand models. It is important to note that in the test, the models from other manufacturers had a power of 1500W.

The test aimed to raise the room temperature from different temperatures to a comfort temperature of 22 degrees.

ONE OR TWO TERRACE HEATERS?

If we look at the table above of TÜV's test results a little more closely and consider what the test result means on a practical level, we can conclude, for example, the following:

You want to heat your terrace space to a comfort temperature of 22 degrees Celsius at an outdoor temperature of 15 degrees Celsius. By choosing our Solamagic ECO+PRO 1400 terrace heater, you will get heat for an area of ​​11 square meters.

If you choose a competing heat lamp that has a power of 1500W, i.e. consumes about 7% more energy than the Solamagic patio heater, you will get heat for an average area of ​​6 square meters.

WHAT DOES IT COST THEN?

These days it is difficult to estimate what electricity costs at any given time, but in the "Energy Economy" section we estimate the price of electricity including transmission costs to be €0.50/kWh. The operating cost of one 1400W Solamagic ECO+PRO patio heater per hour is therefore 1.4 x €0.50, or a total of €0.70.

The operating cost of a competing 1500W heater per hour is €0.75 and you need two of these, so in our example the area to be heated is slightly larger, 12 square meters and the total cost is €1.50.

If you use the device for 100 hours during the season, the total operating cost with Solamagic is 100 x €0.70, or €70, and with competing models the total operating cost is €150.

The purchase price of the Solamagic ECO+PRO 1400 patio heater is €439.00 and let's say that the purchase price of a competing European brand radiant heater is €299.00 and you need two of these, making the total price €598.00.

Attached are the operating and purchasing costs in a table for clarification. The price of electricity is an estimate, but it probably doesn't matter much here.
