Biofireplace as a heat source

Biofireplaces are known primarily as mood-makers, but the heat they produce is of interest to many. Can a biofireplace really be used as a heat source, or is it just a decorative element? In this guide, we will explore the heat output, practical benefits, and limitations of a biofireplace.

BIOFIREPLACE AS A HEAT SOURCE?

The biofireplace produces heat when it burns bioethanol. 100% of this is transferred to the surrounding air mass without any particles or other odors or emissions.

However, heat production is not the strength of a biofireplace compared to a traditional fireplace.

Regardless of the model, its heat output is relatively low compared to traditional fireplaces, and for this reason, we naturally do not recommend using a biofireplace as your primary heat source, which you probably already knew.

Biofireplaces produce heat approximately 1-4 kW, depending on the model, which is quite sufficient as an additional heat source. The primary purpose of a biofireplace is to create a wonderful, live fire atmosphere in a clean and emission-free way.

This makes the biofireplace a particularly allergy-friendly and environmentally friendly form of additional heating - without smoke, dirt or soot!

The fuel consumption of a biofireplace is approximately 0.5-1.0 liters per hour, depending on the model and flame size, so longer use will naturally increase the total consumption. We therefore recommend using a biofireplace when you want to enjoy the clean and safe atmosphere of a fire in complete peace and quiet.

The most popular places to use it at home and in holiday homes are living rooms, between the kitchen and dining area or living room as a space divider, embedded in a tabletop or embedded in a wall structure . Glazed terraces and balconies are also great places to place a biofireplace. A mobile bioethanol fireplace, free-standing or placed on a table, is very convenient if you want to enjoy a biofire in different situations, in different rooms!

We will tell you more about how you can utilize a biofireplace in different spaces in your home a little later in this section.

SAFE TO USE

A biofireplace is completely safe to use, just like any other home appliance. However, read on for some things to consider.
